For a week every other year, our wonderful neighbouring town of Farnborough finds itself at the very centre of global attention as it hosts the Farnborough International Airshow.

Visitors from 44 countries gather to network with more than 1,000 exhibiting companies and share knowledge and information about the latest developments in aviation technology and software, multi-billion dollar deals are negotiated as senior executives from all the major airlines descend on Surrey.

But will there be any aeroplanes to see?

Oh my goodness yes, the skies above Farnborough, Farnham, Woking and of course, Guildford will be abuzz with planes of all shapes and sizes, in fact, the entire area around Farnborough International Airport becomes a plane-spotters paradise.

This year’s Flying Display partner is Virgin Atlantic, and there will be static, and aerial demonstrations to astonish onlookers. The Red Arrows will be making an appearance so keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for their amazing demonstrations of wizardry, and at 1.30 pm on Monday 22nd, the US Air Force F-35A Lightning II will be conducting a flypast.

There are highlights to look out for throughout the week, with Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers appearing on Friday 26th, for a full list of what to expect on each day, please visit the fabulous FIA website here

Sustainability and Space technology are among the themes for FIA 2024, as the show organisers play host to the most important space and aviation event in the world, making it as always, a must-visit for anybody in the trade.
