As ever, there is loads to see and do in and around Guildford this month, from live theatre and fabulous household name acts, to intimate gigs, outdoor experiences and even a bit of sporting action.

We’ll begin our roundup with our friends at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

The ‘Arnaud’ is going through a fairly extensive refurbishment right now, but the end of September is packed with great live performances from the likes of the fabulous Scummy Mummies, the amazing gardening superstar Carol Klein, everyone’s favourite food critic Jay Rayner, and I think we can safely say ‘national treasure’, Robert Lindsay.

If we can add a personal recommendation here, the remarkable Carrie Hope Fletcher will be bringing her show Love Letters to the Arnaud on the 27th and 28th of September, we don’t use the word unmissable very often, but this really is a must see celebration of musical theatre.

Early September at G Live is a riot of fabulous tribute acts, kicking off with Arrival – The Hits of Abba on the 4th, followed by the remarkable Ben Portsmouth as Elvis on the 6th,  The Carpenters Story on the 7th, and world famous The Illegal Eagles on the 14th

G Live is a genuine asset to our town, attracting household names and major tour performances, and this September sees Dawn French, Michael Palin, Ricky Gervais, Ben Elton, and Frank Skinner appearing live onstage, right across the road from Mandolay!

We say it every month, but acts this big sell out quickly, and we urge you to check out the G Live website regularly for more fantastic events.

The new Ice Hockey season is upon us, and after a fine showing last time out, the Guildford Flames will be hoping for more success in the league and cup. September sees Manchester, Cardiff, Nottingham, Coventry, and Fife taking the ice at The Spectrum. There are some great ticket offers, including kids go free, so check out the website for details.

Did somebody say Gin Fest?

That’s right, it’s back, on 7th September the fabulous Loseley Park plays host to this annual celebration of all things gin, and more!

You can see more details, and book tickets here…and Mandolay reception staff can book you a taxi (just saying).

You can explore the amazing history of Guildford, visit hidden gems, and get access to some of the most stunning buildings in and around the area between 6th and 15th of September with Heritage Open Days.

These are just a few of the events happening in Guildford this September, there’s loads more to see and do, and you can find out more by checking out the Visit Surrey website.

Whatever you choose to do, we hope you have a wonderful time in Guildford this September!
