We will begin this month’s roundup with our great friends at Guildford Cathedral. This iconic building is well worth a visit at any time, there’s a great café, the interior of the Cathedral is stunning, and the exterior is a must photo opportunity for all horror fans (The Omen).
On Saturday 5th of October there’s a pre-loved kilo sale, while the 12th sees ‘Bowie by Candlelight’, an amazing concert featuring all the hits.
Next up this month it’s over to the wonderful Yvonne Arnaud Theatre who kick off with a run of Cluedo 2, from October 1st, it’s a sharp, witty comedy based on the much-loved board game.
There’s more laughs and gasps in store when Dial M for Mayhem rolls into town on the 8th, it’s a comedy drama set in Scotland, from the pen of Margaret May Hobbs, who also wrote the courtroom phenomenon, The Verdict !
George Orwell’s chilling 1984 is brought to life by a hugely talented cast, including Keith Allen in this stunning new adaptation from Ryan Craig, this has sold-out written all over it, so be sure to book early for the run which begins on the 15th.
Our near neighbours and great friends at G Live have yet another stellar month of events in store, starting with the remarkable Fern Brady on the 1st, it’s an adult themed show and strictly over 16s only.
Legends of the Dance Floor brings Brendan, Pasha, Vincent, James, and Ian together for the first time live on stage…if you’re a Strictly fan, you don’t need their surnames, that’s how famous they are ! Tickets will sell out for this performance on October 2nd.
Formula 1 fans will love An Evening with Guenther Steiner, the former Haas Team Principal will be telling his story to a public audience for the first time, and it’s not to be missed.
The one and only Jimmy Carr is in town on the 10th, you’ll know what to expect from this comedy giant.
‘Ooh Gary Davies on the radio’…one of the most iconic DJs of the 80s brings his Radio 2 Sounds of the 80s show to G Live on the 11th, so get those Rara Skirts and Frankie Says T Shirts out of the loft and get down to some serious mixes.
On the 17th it’s the turn of the remarkable, and very funny Rachel Parris to take the stage with her unique blend of song, satire and stand-up, Rachel has far too many credits to mention, but we love her most for her regular appearances on BBC Radio 4 and The Mash Report.
Speaking of The Mash Report, the one and only Nish Kumar is at G Live on the 25th…he’s even better live than he is on TV and Radio, and that’s saying something.
And finally for this month, Ice Hockey is back for a new season with Guildford Flames hosting Cardiff, Dundee, Sheffield, Belfast, and Nottingham at The Spectrum this October…Go Flames!
