Last month we wrote about how our Managing Director, Matthew Milliken was preparing for the Bournemouth Half Marathon, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Well, we are delighted to say that Matthew completed the course in a personal best time, and smashed his fundraising target, picking up more than £400.00 in donations.
Note from Matthew ‘I would like to thank everyone that supported me, it was a huge pleasure to complete the run and I had a wonderful time, the money I raised, along with the thousands of other runners will make a huge difference to our charities.’
Of course, as well as raising funds and awareness for charity, one of the key elements of any great effort like Matthew’s is to inspire others to get involved.
Step forward Tami, our Sales Director.
Tami has signed up for next year’s Bournemouth Half Marathon and is already talking about not only beating Matthew’s time, but also raising more money for her charity Change Mental Health.
The gauntlet has been well and truly laid down.
Training has already begun, and Tami, a keen keep fit enthusiast is confident that she can indeed compete with Matthew. ‘I may not have the running experience that Matthew has, but I have 11 months to get ready for the race…I know that I am going to have great fun preparing, and every single penny that I raise will spur me on a little bit more.’
If you would like to support Tami, you can visit her Just Giving page, or email a message of encouragement here
Well done Matthew, and good luck Tami.
