One of the many wonderful charities that exist to help our community is Guildford Action, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families with a variety of complex needs.
The charity, which operates from premises close to Guildford town centre provides a safe haven for people who might be homeless, on a low income, or may be vulnerable, and marginalised. At their centre, they provide hot meals at cost price, plus the use of showering and laundry facilities, and access to primary health care thanks to regular GP visits, and clinics.
Importantly, they also help people to access counselling and advice, often acting as an intermediary, signposting to other trusted agencies such as housing providers, homeless charities, mental health advisors, and the emergency services.
Quite simply, this ‘little’ charity makes a massive difference to the lives of countless people.
