Fresh from his efforts in the recent Bournemouth event, Mandolay Managing Director Matthew Milliken is packing his running gear and heading north to Edinburgh to take part in their prestigious half-marathon.
Once again Matthew will be raising funds for Cancer Research UK, with all money raised going straight to the charity. Cancer Research is the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research, funding research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.
Edinburgh presents a completely different challenge to any of Matthew’s previous runs, with the course described as ‘the fastest in the UK’ by readers of Runners World. The scenery will certainly be spectacular, as the race passes many of the cities iconic landmarks, although we don’t think Matthew will have time to stop and admire the buildings!
You can show your support for Cancer Research by visiting Matthew’s Just Giving page here, with all donations very gratefully received.
Training is going very well, as Matthew builds towards to the event on May 25th, and you can follow his progress via the Just Giving page.
Cancer Research is a charity close to the hearts of millions of people in the UK, including Matthew as he explains. ‘Cancer is a disease that has touched most of us in one way or another which is why the work that Cancer Research do is of such importance. The developments in diagnosis and treatment are helped massively by the work of these remarkable scientists, doctors, nurses and support teams. It is a privilege to run on their behalf’.
Good luck Matthew from everyone at Mandolay.
