Think of a Party?

Off the top of your head, think of all the reasons that you might use to throw a party…we’ll get you started with a few easy ones.

Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas, Engagement, Wedding, Naming Ceremony, Renewal of Wedding Vows, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Eid, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Superbowl, Cup Final, School Prom, End of Season Awards, Charity Fundraiser, College Reunion, Hoe Down, Office Get Together, Bridal Shower, Baby Shower, Halloween, Easter, Summer Ball, New Year’s Eve, Toga, Bachelor Party, Cocktail Party, and Divorce Party.

OK, some of those aren’t exactly run of the mill causes for celebration but they are all types of party that Mandolay has hosted in the past few years, after all, it’s not our place to question the reason for the celebration, it’s our job to make it the best occasion possible.

So, how do we do this?

Well, the first that we do is listen. Some people come to us with loads of great ideas, positively bursting with creativity and a clear vision of what they want. Others come along with a vague idea of the sort of thing that they would like, and a few arrive with no real plans at all.

At the early stages of the planning process we listen take lots of notes, and talk about numbers and budgets. Then, once we have the basic details we get to work, using our years of experience, and practical know-how.

Sometimes we have to ‘reign it in a bit’, never squashing ideas or dreams, but making sure that everyone is aware of the practicalities of their vision…we can accommodate stretch limousines, we do not have a helicopter landing pad, we can match colour themes, but we can’t paint the hotel sky blue…that sort of thing.

Then we might talk about service styles, offering everything from dry hire to full silver service banquet style. Is there a theme, Casino, Bollywood, Wild West, 70s Pop, Fancy Dress, there are as many themes as there are reasons to party.

It’s fair to say that there are a lot of moving parts involved in planning the perfect party.

However, while every party is different, there is one constant that we stick by.

This is your party, not ours, you make the decisions and we provide the guidance, you have the ideas and we will advise on practicalities…it’s your party, you get to ask us anything.

One last word, we have been doing this for a long time and it is really difficult to surprise us…but we love a challenge!
