The Mandolay is not a ‘wedding factory’, every day belongs to the bridal party and it is your ideas that will make your day unique.

We encourage your input at every stage of the planning process, we love great ideas, and of course we are always on hand to advise on practical matters such as service styles, seating arrangements and those little suggestions that we have picked up over the years.

OAK ROOM

‘Perfect, just perfect. The room looked wonderful and was just the right size for our wedding’.

There is no doubting the intimate delight of The Oak Room. This is the ideal space for wedding ceremonies and dinners of up to 30 guests, the room is flooded with natural light, fully air conditioned or heated, oak panelled and genuinely unique in Guildford.

Surrey Suite

‘We couldn’t believe how quickly it was changed from hosting the ceremony to turning into a party room.’

Licenced for weddings and civil ceremonies of up to 200, and with capacity to comfortably seat 100 guests for a wedding breakfast, or more for an evening buffet, this space is truly flexible and ‘built for parties’ with its own dance floor and integral sound system.

The three rooms comprising the Surrey Suite can be used individually, or quickly and easily opened up to create a single span area with its own bar, comfortable seating and exclusive facilities separate from other parts of the hotel. Access to the private garden, terrace and Gazebo Lawn is via ground level double-doors.

From the moment your guests set foot on the steps leading to the suite, past our bespoke ‘flower wall’ and beneath the stunning, 200 drop chandelier, they will be transported to a wedding venue like no other.

The drama of entering a wood panelled room, with tables set to your precise requirements, chairs complete with silken sashes and a flower festooned top table, takes the breath away. You can imagine the scale of a suite capable of hosting ceremonies of up to 500 seated guests, but you will not fully appreciate the splendour and at the same time the glamour and intimacy that we are able to achieve in this unique space.

Are you licensed for civil ceremonies?
Yes, we have four licensed spaces at the hotel, including our Gazebo Lawn. The Mandolay Suite can host up to 500 guests with the next largest venue being Guildford Cathedral.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Certainly! Our licensed area, situated at our Gazebo Lawn, accommodates a maximum of 180 individuals.
Is there accommodation on site?
We have 78 tastefully appointed bedrooms all fully equipped to meet the needs of even the most discerning guests.
Is there a Honeymoon or Bridal suite?
The Signature Suite has been specifically crafted to be an exclusive component of our Ultimate Wedding Package. Additionally, this suite is available for rent with all Wedding Packages, offering amenities such as a makeup and hair area, soaking tub, and air conditioning.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Our Wedding Specialist can offer information about additional nearby venues in the vicinity.
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?

Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
Our Wedding Packages are inclusive of wine service, however, should you prefer your own wine, our Dry Hire package might be most suitable.
How many people can you fit on your round tables?
Our 6 foot round tables have a capacity of up to 12 individuals, with an optimal seating arrangement for 8 to 10 people.
Can we have banqueting style set up for our wedding breakfast?
Yes, of course. Our Wedding Specialist can discuss different layout options for our event suites.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
7:00am.
What time does the reception need to finish?
1:00am (Last song 12:50am).
Do you have a late licence?
Yes. We are able to host till 1:00am.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
Live music is restricted at 10pm out of consideration for our residential neighbours, given our location as a town centre venue.
Do you have a sound limiter?
Yes, a 110db limiter. All sound is controlled via the hotel sound system, no outside speakers are permitted.
Are fireworks allowed?
No, they are not permitted.
Is confetti allowed?
Biodegradable confetti is allowed outdoors.
Are candles allowed?
Certainly! Tealights enclosed in votive holders are allowed.
Do you permit Dhol drums inside the venue?
Yes, we do!
Can we have a small, ceremonial fire on our Mandap for our Indian ceremony?
Yes. Our past couples have performed the ceremony in the Mandolay Suite or on the Surrey Suite Terrace for a more intimate gathering.
Can the courtyard /garden / terrace be used after nightfall?
No, due to our residential area once it’s nightfall our Gazebo Lawn and Surrey Suite Terrace are not accessible.
Do you have smoking areas?
Although we are a non-smoking hotel you are permitted at the front of the hotel.
What local churches do you have nearby?
There are several churches in the area and our Wedding Specialist can review options.
