Welcome to January. Let’s be honest, it’s not everyone’s favourite month, back to work, bills to pay, getting the kids to school…remembering how to use a computer!

So let’s take a quick look at some little indulgencies that might make the next few weeks a little more bearable.

There are still plenty of bargains to be had in Guildford, with January sales continuing to offer some real treats. We love, love, love the independent shops in town, but just for a change we are going to mention the ‘Big Three’ shopping centres.

Tunsgate Quarter is home to high end brands, like TAG Heuer, Oka, The White Company, and David Clulow Opticians. It is a really cool shopping experience with great dining options, and we love spending time there.

Recently refurbished (and looking great), White Lion Walk can be found between High Street and North Street, it offers a great mix of shops, including one of our absolute favourites, Robert Dyas.

Guildford’s largest shopping centre by some considerable distance is The Friary. Here you can find everything from HMV, Skechers, Primark, and Zara, to Hollister, Next, Superdry, and Flying Tiger. There are around a dozen places to grab a bite to eat, including McDonalds, Krispy Crème, and Thai Express…perfect places to sit and take stock of all your bargain purchases.

Just off North Street you will find Food for Thought, an absolute gem of an independent store that’s packed with every type of health food, and supplement you can think of. Their expert team are always on hand to help those considering a healthy start to 2025.

If you are after a quick way to blow the new year cobwebs away, look no further than Body Street, brand new to Guildford with a revolutionary approach to fitness. We hear nothing but great things about this place, so why not give it a try and let us know what you think?

And, if you are still feeling a bit jaded, perhaps it’s time to take a look ahead to a summer holiday, and there are certainly loads of options to choose from when booking your place in the sun. On-line is great, but for some personal attention from experienced agents, we love Kuoni.

Their Guildford branch is packed with brochures, great ideas, and really knowledgeable staff that can help build a unique holiday experience, in fact their office is so plush and comfortable that you’ll feel like your holiday has already started.

You can find Kuoni at 42/44 High Street Guildford, or book an appointment via their website.

Whatever you are up to this January, it’s sure to be a blast in Guildford.
