We’ll begin our roundup for this month with the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, one of the finest and best run theatres in the UK, and a place that we urge everyone to visit.
It’s Film Season at the ‘Arnaud’ in June, with a programme packed with favourites and smash hits for all the family, kicking off on the 11th, with One Life, the heart breaking, uplifting true story of the amazing Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton starring Antony Hopkins, Helena Bonham-Carter and Jonathon Pryce.
Other Film Season highlights include the brilliantly funny Wicked Little Letters starring Olivia Coleman and Jessie Buckley on the 13th, and Maestro, starring Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein.
Later in the month, there’s a live performance from Radio 4 stalwart and brilliant comedian Miles Jupp, when he brings his On I bang show to Guildford.
The month ends in spectacular style with a star-studded cast including Honeysuckle Weeks, Sara Crowe, and Kayleigh Cooper in a run of the fabulous drama of dark desires, and ambition Accolade.
Not to be outdone, our near neighbours at G Live have a stellar line-up of comedy, music and entertainment lined up for June.
The one and only Frank Skinner is appearing live on stage with his new show 30 Years of Dirt on the 5th, while the fabulous Julian Clary rocks up on the 8th, and on June 19th, it’s the turn of Ed Gamble to have us rolling in the aisles with his remarkable new show Hot Diggity Dog’.
For fans of the best tribute acts around, there are performances from Rumours of Fleetwood Mac on June 12th, the UK Pink Floyd Experience on the 21st, and Lost in Music, a tribute to the genius of Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Earth Wind & Fire, and Diana Ross, on June 22nd.
For those looking for live performances from the real thing, there is An Evening with Alfie Boe on June 10th, tickets will sell out to see Fleetwood’s finest, so book soon!
And now for some really big news…Guilfest is back!
After 10 long years, the best family festival in the UK is returning to Guildford, and on Saturday 29th, and Sunday 30th of June, Stoke Park will be rocking to the sounds of our very own local heroes, The Stranglers, Black Grape, The Blockheads, Sam Ryder, Kiki Dee, Peter Hook, and Lil Mix.

Elsewhere in Guildford this June, we have Blooming Picnic in the Castle Grounds on the 1st, a full day of free entertainment for all the family. The Sausage and Cider Festival in Stoke Park on the 8th of June promises to be a great event, while Guildford Jazz have events on throughout the month.
And finally, as Sir Trevor used to say, the frankly fabulous Guildford Fringe Festival opens on June 29th, running through to July 20th, with a line-up of top acts, and free events that has to be seen to be believed, check it out here.
